Jane Espenson -  Hello All!   I'm Jane Espenson -- I have stumbled my way into the room despite a lack of tech ability, and I'm scanning the questions -- some nice stuff!   Let's get started, shall we?

Can you tell us something about "The Plan". Will we get some startling revelations of the Cylon's original plan or will it 'just' be beautiful drama from another side?
1:02
Jane Espenson -  Hello BH!   I think that depends on your personal startle threshhold.   It really focuses on some specific Cylons, and yes, you learn new things about their motivations and what was really behind a number of events that are now familiar to you.     It's not inself a puzzle -- it is a puzzle piece.

Starbuck an Angel??? Really???
1:05
Jane Espenson -  I'm going to answer re Starbuck and the "head" people, too.   Well, here's how I always saw it.   If someone from a far-advanced culture somewhere in the universe took an interest in humanity, isn't it possible that with their advanced tech that they could have abilities that would seem to us miraculous.   Maybe we'd think of them as "Angels."   Maybe they're the whole reason we have a myth of "Angels."   But that's just me.   The great thing about great novels (or tv series) is that some things are left open to your own philosophical solutions.

what was your favorite battlestar episode you wrote?
1:07
Jane Espenson -  I think it's "The Hub."   It was a very hard ep to write, and it was essentially "re-written" in the editing room, but I think the final product works really well.   I wish I'd been on the show for more seasons -- I would love to have written more!

Loved the BSG finale -- but I think it could have ended with the last shot of Adama looking out over the plains. Why did the production team decide to include the "150,000 yrs later" jump to the future?
1:09
Jane Espenson -  That final ending was an image that Ron had in his head since Season One, which amazes me.   He always felt that the show ended with a Six and a Baltar walking through Times Square.

Hi Jane, Have you read any great books lately? I loved Bob Harris' first book and gave it as gifts to everyone I knew that year. I just got Who Hates Whom on my Kindle and can't wait to dig into that one.

Jane Espenson -  Ah -- you're referring to Prisoner of Trebekistan -- a wonderful book I recommend to everyone.   In terms of lately... I just read Stephen King's book On Writing, and I suggest any of you aspiring writers do as well.   It's half auto-biography and half really solid nuts-and-bolts writing advice.   I adored it.

The preview for Caprica didn't really tell us how it relates, if at all, to BSG other than the fact that it takes place on Caprica. Will the two series have more of a connection than that?
