Hey everyone. Fun little fact: when Aceves started yesterday, he was just the 7th different starter the Yanks used this year. Last year they used 10 different starters before the break (not counting Bruney's start in rainy KC) and in 2007 it was 11. Anyway, what's on everyone's mind?

Actually, let's start off with a poll.

Is there a list of the international players the yankees signed so far?
2:00
Not that I've seen. As far as I know they've signed just Sanchez, Cabrera and Arredondo.

Everyone says Cash didnt dump Hughes/Joba for Santana. But I think thats more so to do with the fact CC was going to be available after the season. Little different situation with Halladay no?
2:02
Yes, it is different. Halladay's a) a better pitcher now than Johan was then, and b) you get him for two playoff runs, not just one. At the time, Johan would have been just a bandaid because the rest of the rotation was still a mess. Now, Halladay would be icing on the cake.

Even though Burnett's numbers have been great, it so damn hard watching him pitch.
2:02
Sure, he can be frustrating. I enjoy watching him the most out of anyone on the staff just because his stuff is unreal.

D-Rob kind of has to be the one to go down after yesterday's debacle, but I kind of feel bad for him. I think Girardi (who I generally like) put him in a position to fail by bringing him in with the bases loaded, since his one big weakness now is wildness. What do you think?
2:04
I think Albaladejo goes down. Robertson always seems to struggle when he's brought in with men on base, but otherwise he's fine. He's been very good considering his role as a 5th/6th inning guy.

Why did Bruney start in KC?
2:05
It was rainy and the Yanks didn't want Kennedy to start only to have to take him out after a long delay. Bruney pitched the first two, then someone else came in, then it rained a little and IPK threw the last four I believe.

It's our pleasure. No MLBtv?

What do you think of Giardi's comments about Hughes being a "one inning guy"
2:06
I hate it. It seems like their goal is minimize the use of Hughes' talent as much as possible.

What do you think of this: Trade for Halladay and keep him until the end of 2010. Offer him arbitration (assuming that he declines) and get the draft picks for another team signing him and then appointing the money off the books from Halladay on Felix Hernandez (I believe he is a free agent after the 2010 season...if not 2010, then after the 2011 season)
2:08
I'll admit that I'm very much interested in Halladay. CC, Doc and AJ in a playoff series is as good as it gets. Considering that Jeter, Mo and Posada aren't getting any younger, now might be the best time to go all in and make run for it. Getting two picks for Halladay will certainly mitigate the cost of prospects, but not all that much.

It was Bruney for 2, Traber for 1, Kyle for 1 (got the loss, big surprise) and IPK for 3. I could be wrong, but I think no rain delay ever actually happened. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KCA/KCA200804090.shtml

My bad, I remember it was raining at one point. I guess they just didn't stop it.
