News-Hound -  Certainly in some locations it was crowded, but nowhere near two years ago and not even close to last fall. If there were some school referendums on the ballot, it might have boosted turnout in some locations...

News-Hound -  Schools, though, saw the writing on the wall. The Hound will be surprised if the two fire referendums --- Rockland district in Knollwood and First Fire in Antioch --- will pass muster with voters because of the economy and because they seem to be in a very anti-tax mood...

News-Hound -  Even though there is this anti-tax mood, it won't stop the Legislature from going forward with the largest tax increase in Illinois history. It will be interesting to see how Lake County's Democratic lawmakers spin this one next year...
