Bob, do you think Friesen Fire has a chance in this race? And, why do you think he fell off so much in the Derby?

Here's what happened in the Derby to Friesan Fire. He was bumped and cut up at the start of race. He came out of it with cuts on both front feet and right hock. He was bleeding. And, he didn't seem to handle the slippery track. All in all, it was a disaster for him. I do think he has a chance. He worked well at Pimlico and appears bright and healthy. A key will be if he still is confident, if the Derby didn't take away from his mental game.

What made Mine that Bird so good at Churchill Downs and does that make him a good pick this week?

Bob Fortus, T-P - Track guy, that's the million-dollar question. Was it the mud? Was it the change in tactics? He was the champion 2-year-old in Canada, so it's not as if he never had shown talent. But the way he ran - a final quarter in 23-and-change, was amazing. If he repeats that performance, he's a superstar. You won't get 50-1 this time. I wish I could help you, but I'm as perplexed as others. He is a neat little gelding.
