TCBB Weekend Recap Chat

Brian Foley -  I will start answering questions at 9pm...SEND IN YOUR QUESTIONS NOW!

Brian Foley -  We enter another chat this weekend as we saw the Dartmouth Big Green clinch an NCAA bid with a 10-0 victory on Sunday over Cornell.

I attended the Boston College and Miami series and I was less then impressed by the Canes pitching staff even though they took two out of three games.

The NOLES continue to have hot bats. How many more W's does it take to lock up another home regional? Also, if they continue their winning ways at GT this weekend, is a top 8 seed within reach?
9:04
Colin Weber -  It's going to be hard for Florida State to get into the national seed discussion unless they pull a sweep of the Yellow Jackets.   As for the regional host, if they win the series this weekend then I really like their chances of hosting.

Brian Foley -  If FSU won the series at GT they would be in the coversation for an NCAA Regional host bid. Right now, I don't think they are that good. FSU has been pileing up some wins over the last few weekends over the bottom feeders in the ACC. I still think Miami is a better team then FSU right now.

How about Houston and the turn around they've had? While they lost 2 of 3 to Rice, they were some exciting finishes. Can they do enough down the stretch to make the NCAA tourney? Do they stand a chance in the conference tourney to make said run?
9:07
Colin Weber -  I don't think Houston gets in the NCAA tournament without winning the conference championship.   They just dug too big of a hole with their slow start this season.   I have seen them play multiple times this season, and I''m glad they are starting to play up to their potential. It's a real shame they lost Chris Wallace for such a long stretch because their lineup is a lot better with him hitting in the middle of the order.   They gave Rice all they could handle this weekend, and that series could've gone either way.   I think Houston will compete in the conference tournament, but they are going to have to get through Rice to get the automatic bid most likely.

A loss to St Thomas, and a weekend beatdown of Iowa. Where does this leave the Gophers?
9:08
Brian Foley -  The St. Thomas loss doesn't count in the RPI as Minnesota still has an RPI that is still good enough for an at-large berth.
9:08
Colin Weber -  They are a 2 seed most likely.   I liked them as an darkhorse to possibly earn a host bid before the mid-week loss, but I'm not sure that's possible anymore.
