The Importance of Game 1 cannot be overstressed. The team that has the first game has gone on to win each of the last six World Series. The Phillies are 8-3 in post-season series after taking the first game and 0-6 in series in which they've dropped Game 1. During the Yankees' recent successful run, they have gone 1-2 in World Series in which they've lost Game 1 and 3-0 in World Series in which they've won the first game.

8:20	Cliff Lee struck out Jeter on a curve that pretty much just spun. But because it was in that spot it was hard to hit. I've always been of the opinion that there's a spot, a bit above the letters, where you can get people out with offspeed stuff.
