What will the Ravens have to do to beat the Broncos on Sunday?

- Dave ... I think the key is how the Ravens protect Flacco. Denver does a great job of showing multiple fronts and moving guys around. The Broncos make offenses think. It's the challenge for the Ravens to account for everyone coming after Flacco. If they give Flacco time, he should be able to throw downfield (I know Denver has a solid secondary with Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins). But this is where the game will be won or lost.

The team seems to be very confident about their abilities to get this season turned around. Given the current defensive difficulties and a very poor secondary, why should we believe them?

- Rob ... Well, it can't get worse. The past two games have been the first time since I started covering the Ravens in 2000 that both the run and pass defense has collapsed for an extended stretch. I still believe that the defense isn't as bad as it has looked recently. There is too much talent there. The key is getting the talent to play together. I don't envy Greg Mattison.

What's your best guess on the breakdown of playing time for Ellerbe, Gooden, and McClain? Is the coaching staff going to employ the same "go with the hot hand" strategy they use with the running backs?

- Tyler ... the Ravens desparately want Gooden to step up and be "the guy." He is a third-round pick and is the reason why the Ravens let Bart Scott go. The scary part is Gooden's track record with concussions. It's like he can't stay healthy. At linebacker, it's hard not getting your head knocked around. So, this is a serious concern. The breakdown could be more Ellerbe and McClain because Gooden is dinged up. Because I expect the Broncos to throw a lot of short passes, maybe McClain gets the most reps this game.
