i always thought insulin pumps were usually a last resort now i am seeing newly diagnosed diabetes with insulin pumps is this a better form of control or are they brittle diabetes??
5:21
we see more and more type 2 diabetes patients with insulin pumps, it is very common.
If you are on insulin, the insulin pump is one of the most effective ways to control blood sugar levels.
It is not for brittle diabetics any more. We encourage patients to consider this form of control.

one more question- you kinda touched on diabetes affecting multi systems- we push daily foot & nail care very hard is that still current?
5:30

very much so. that is a good way for early signs of DM.

one of the standards of care is foot exams at each primary care office visit.

thick discolored toenails   could reflect a fungus of the nail bed

ingrown toenails are also a issue.

all issues of poor circulation a nd a possible infection. Circulation is a positive sign of diabetes
