[Comment From Cisco]
There seems to be some debate about the usefulness of Vick after last night's "lack of rythm" with the first offense. How will Vick be utilized if it hinders Mcnabbs "rythm"?
1:09
RichHofmann -  Cisco, I think that is going to become the question of the season. That wasn't my initial thought, either. First, I wondered about protests and a divided fan base -- last night seemed to indicate that won't be an issue at all. Then I wondered about Vick playing too well and somehow usurping McNabb. I think there is only a small risk of that. You have hit on the bigger issue -- McNabb and the rest of the offense being to maintain some rhythm and momentum while integrating Vick. The first night was not encouraging that way, but it was only the first night.

[Comment From Alaska Chuck]
Eagles D looked better, but coordinator seemed to get out foxed. Screens when Eagles blitzed and linebackers looked average to poor from TV views. Is the defense going to struggle and is the coordinator up for the job of calling the plays?
1:11
RichHofmann -  Chuck, I don't think you can draw the kinds of conclusions that you are trying to draw. It's just too early. Nobody is scheming anything right now. Whether or not Sean McDermott can be the equal of Jim Johnson is unknown and unknowable right now. But I will say this: linebackers don't look great, and I don't know who the free safety is going to be

[Comment From Mike Grego]
I suspect about a dozen NFL teams right now are kicking themselves for not signing Vick ! Do you agree ?
1:13
RichHofmann -  Mike, I think you could be right. If this is going to be the sum total of the extracurricular protesting, it is a non-issue for the franchise. Now, you need a strong and secure starting quarterback to make this work, because I can't imagine Vick running a huddle for a whole game anytime soon, but you can see the potential.

[Comment From Adam]
Rich, what are your thoughts in Joe May's play thus far? Seems very unimpressive to me?
1:15
RichHofmann -  Adam, I think that's a good word, unimpressive. Last summer, he made you look at him with all of the hitting he did. This summer, he just seems to be treading water. The very fact that they gave Moise Fokou, the rookie sixth-rounder (I think) a look at middle linebacker with the first group last night tells you that they are open to any and all options there.
