A very good afternoon, Dr Lee. Has the H1N1 pandemic peaked in our country? What is your overall view of the disease as of now?

Dr Christopher Lee -  Hi KFtang, thanks for your question. Yes, the pandemic peaked in July and August but since Sept, the number of new infections have dropped worldwide. In many countries now esp those in the tropics, the pandemic is at a low level but the worrying news is that cases have begun to creep up in the northern countries now eg. in the US, Britain, etc. This could be the 2nd. wave and due vigilance must now be practiced to deal with this.

There are reports of second wavtes in Thailand and several other countries. Is Malaysia facing the same problem and what is the ministry doing about it?
