animoto - upload images, choose music and let animoto create a video for you; can get 30 second video for free; can be embedded in blogs and other tools

letterpop - newsletter creator

glogster - easy to use; upload images, sounds and videos to create posters; there is an educational area with no ads

slideshare - a place to upload and search for slide shows; upload the file, then embed in your blog or other site; some creators allow you to download the slideshow and edit for your own purposes; offers a transcript of the text on the slides

sliderocket - allows you to import your powerpoint presentation as jpg files or convert to sliderocket format and edit slides online

voicethread - watch the voicethread about voicethread to get the idea; users can leave comments on voicethread presentations

Social Networking can be very powerful.

Ning allows you to create your own social network. Classroom 2.0 is a social network created for teachers interested in web 2.0 and education.

Delicious is a social bookmarking site. Allows users to see each other's bookmarks.

Diigo is another social bookmarking site that allows you to create categories.

Twitter is a microblogging tool. Twirl is a Twitter client that you can install and have open on your computer all the time.

edmodo - a private microblogging platform; teachers sign up for accounts and create groups of students; can post homework, attach files; a cross between Twitter and Moodle
