- The YWCA serves victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault ,Victims of Crime. We also serve Homeless individuals. We have a Counseling progran and Adolescent Parent Support Program.

- We offer a support group for victims of Domestic Violence. That is open to the public. There is no Charge. It is every Thursday evening at 6:30. During that time we also have a group for children that have been living in a home where there is domestic violence.

- I was reading an AP report this week out of Indianapolis where it reported domestic violence calls during the first five months of this year were up 13 percent over the same period last year -- to almost 2,000 reported cases. Are we seeing an increase in those kinds of calls here and how does Genesis get involved?

- Crisis calls are up as are domestic violence in general. We think it has to do with the economic crisis that families are facing.

- We are being told things like he has never acted like this before. He has never hit me. When this kind of pressure is on families bad things come out of them. That is not a good reason. However, I think we are needed now more.

- The home break-ins and sexual assaults that have been reported in the past several months have Richmond residents very alarmed. These are sexual assaults perpetrated randomly by an apparent stranger. Are those victims handled differently from the victims of domestic assaults?
