Jim, just saw your post on LSU playing Auburn. Could we lose another one, right before the tournament???
12:01
Jim Kleinpeter, T-P -  Give my regards to Jethro. . . .LSU is in the tournament, win or lose. It's all about seeding right now. However, it's not good to go into a funk right before the tournament. The committee will hold that against you. LSU needs to beat Auburn and win at least one SEC tourney game to maintain a 5 seed. If they manage to win the tournament a 4 seed is very real.

Jim, what do you know about Illinois? They're from a big conference, but what kind of team to they have?
12:03
Jim Kleinpeter, T-P -  Toughest test for LSU thus far. Illini are 5-1 and have six position starters back from last year, plus four solid starters with extensive experience. It was probably good for LSU to get a scare from Miss. Valley. LSU should be happy to take two of three this weekend.

What are the chances we're 100 percent healthy for the tournaments, SEC and NCAA?
12:05
Jim Kleinpeter, T-P -  Zero. Just about everybody has a little ache or pain. No one will be out or anything like that, but this LSU team plays hard and that leads to nagging little issues. Spencer has an ankle and wrist; Garrett a wrist; Marcus Thornton is bruised all over and Chris Johnson twisted his ankle Wednesday. But they have also proven to be tough. Don't worry.

Jim, does this baseball team remind you of any of from the glory years? Thoughts?
12:08
Jim Kleinpeter, T-P -  Maybe a little of the 1997 team, but not as homer oriented. That team had a solid core of starters back and bludgeoned teams into submission. This team is even better, more well rounded, better fielding and pitching. It will be interesting to see how the pitching holds up in conference play. The staff really hasn't been tested yet and will have to stay healthy. Still, LSU will outscore a lot of teams.
