skeeler@dmreg.com -  OK, we've got a good crowd today — must be the weather. Fire away, kids ...

Do you think Coach Ferentz knew about the press release?
12:34
skeeler@dmreg.com -  Yes. When it comes to PR, he knows/controls everything. Which is why I was surprised that he mentioned that the 'first team to complain ... is usually the first team to lose.' Dude, you just had your PR staff complain to the country!

I'm not worried about Iowa tomorrow; Kafka isn't 100% against a great d-line and Kafka is turnover prone. Even if Stanzi is average Hawks win by 10; maybe more.

skeeler@dmreg.com -  Agreed. Northwestern is, shall we say, the most 'Caucasian' team in college football.   (Which might explain why Logue likes them so much.) If there's speed anywhere in that lineup, good luck finding it. They'll be plucky, but superior talent (Iowa's) should win out again. Just don't expect it to win out by 25-30 points ....

Missed all the chats last week, please humor me... was the ISU win in Lincoln bigger than 92? Walden was already doomed, but they NU was ranked fairly high in 92. Rhoads will get a lot of momentum from this!!! I was at the 92 game & shook Jimmy's hand after the game on the field after all the frenzy!!! Bad coach, but good guy. Always made time for special needs kids!!!

skeeler@dmreg.com -  Bigger? Probably. Maybe less shocking. This is a better ISU team than that was one, coming in, and while no one saw that Lincoln win coming, they knew these Huskers aren't your daddy's Huskers — the offense was really hitting the skids. Against the 'Clones, it hit rock bottom.

what bowl game would you like to see Iowa St. go to? Its going to have to be an at-large selection isn't it? (unless somehow they get to 7 wins)
12:40
skeeler@dmreg.com -  Assuming the Big 12 gets eight other teams bowl-eligible, it's a good bet ISU is the last card off the pile — unless the Big 12 would somehow get two into the BCS, and it's hard to see that right now (unless the North 'champ' would beat Texas in the title game, at which point we might also be on the cusp of armageddon and would all have bigger things to worry about, frankly). Not sure there's much of a difference there at 6-6 or 7-5, BUT ...
12:40
skeeler@dmreg.com -  .... at 7-5, 4-4, you could, conceivably, win the North. You would, after all, have a head-to-head tiebreaker against Nebraska working for ya. That would be a trip ...
