what's the best guess on Tulane's starting infield for this weekend's games. with Rob Segedin in the DH role for now, that is...
11:36
Ted Lewis, T-P -  It's for sure that Sam Honeck will be at first, Seth Henry at second and Josh Prince at short. But they really need Segedin. Until then my best guess is Matt Ryan, or perhaps Prince moving over.

Hey Ted, do you think with the success Tulane is having with the new baseball stadium that we will see more of a commitment to upgrading the facilities for other major sports as well, i.e. football and basketball? I've heard of the plans to update Fogelman and build a basketball practice facility, does this reflect a change in Scott Cowen's feelings toward major college athletics?
11:39
Ted Lewis, T-P -  Good question, Wave Fan.
The next thing you will see is the basketball/volleyball practice facility. But as we pointed out in a story a couple of weeks ago, because of the current economic conditions, that won't happen until all of the money is raised, which probably pushes the start of construction until the end of the year. A Fogelman renovation would follow. By football - if you are talking about a stadium - that's just not in the cards right now.

Just saw that Gormley is adding FieldTurf to replace the surface. They're also going to improve the site lines by moving the field in. Do you think, because of this, Tulane would consider playing football there again?
11:41
Ted Lewis, T-P -  It would certainly make things more palatable. But I seriously doubt that Tulane will play at Gormley again if Bob Toledo has anything to say about it.

Will TU turn the corner in football this fall?
11:43
Ted Lewis, T-P -  If you mean getting to a bowl game, it's going to be difficult. While Tulane fans can take hope in a good recruiting class, the rest of Conference USA isn't standing still and with the exception of Rice every league team Tulane is playing looks to be improved next season. But with some breeaks - like the offensive playmakers staying healthy - a 6-6 season which would mean bowl eligibility is doable.
