Does Foer say in his book or do you know if there's some kind of seal for humanely raised meat that I could look for at the store?

Vance
- There are organizations that attempt to certify 'humane' treatment. Unfortunately, Foer points out that popular buzzwords like "cage-free" and "organically raised" are misleading when you examine the standards they reflect.

It seems that the only logical solution to the moral dilemma concerning the commodification of animals is to go vegan. Would you agree?

Vance
- Ed, I personally agree, but Foer points out that while working toward a moral absolute we can take steps that make a difference, and he wants to see factory farming eliminated.

Can you possibly eat too much soy because of the estrogen? I'm a vegetarian and I read that recently.

Vance
- There is a lot of hype out there about the dangers of soy. It's possible to eat too much of anything, and there are phytoestrogens in soy. What people need to remember is that the model of a huge glop of protein in the middle of the meal is not how we need to eat. Meat doesn't need to be replaced with soy. There are a variety of legumes and other sources that will get you plenty of protein.

[Comment From Ryan G]
Ed: I agree with that - was good to hear in the interview Foer declare "I think there will come a time when everyone is vegetarian"
