you took a wonderful risk to walk through this journey together -- and then to share it with us, is a true gift. your love oozed throughout the whole tribute. i feel your pain -- but with the reserve of never having gone through your experience or walked in your shoes. may you be ONLY strengthened by the memories of thomas and the awareness of how you taught us about love and courage. how he taught us that love has no boundaries.

T.K. and Deidrea -

Interested in knowing how a nurse can specialize in perinatal/neonatal hospice.

Kathy Rose/Nurse -

It helps to have a background in neonatal nursing postpartum combined with the hospice experience in pediatrics. Bottom line, I was an adult care nurse for the first 10 years of my career. I moved over to what has turned out to be an incredibly rewarding field and mission. The Hospice and Palliative Nurses association has a website with information about the field that may be helpful. It's a fairly new field, and there aren't a lot of hospices that offer pediatrics or perinatal programs. Perinatal hospice at this point hasn't been reimburseable so hospices haven't yet had many opportunities to care for families like the Lauxes.

Your story was a reminder of my son 21 years ago...It was so painful but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. Have you gotten any more info on you daughter's health yet?
11:35
T.K. and Deidrea -    We had a CVS test done at 13 weeks and all is good.   We are also having regular sonograms and she is doing great.
