NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex

8:59
Mike Haag -  It's race day at the Texas Motorplex.   I am on the scene and will try to provide live updates of today's NHRA drag races.   Feel free to join in and comment throughout the day.
9:50
Mike Haag -  I just got back from having breakfast at Tony Schumacher hospitality tent.   Man, what a spread of food.   While I was eating, Tony and his crew fired up the car to test the engine.   There is nothing like getting rattled out of your chair while having breakfast.   There is also nothing like smelling nitro methane too.
9:51
Mike Haag -  Fans are gathering near the staging   area for the pre-race show.   The pit area is packed with fans too.   It looks like the crowd is going to be large here today.
10:02
Mike Haag -  The track temperature is already at 92 degrees.   It's warming up.   The outside temperature is 78 degrees.   Humidity is high today and is already at 77%.   The winds have picked up today and are out of the SSW at 11 mph.
10:12
Mike Haag -  If the track continues to heat up the elapsed times and speeds won't be as fast as they were earlier this weekend.
10:32
Mike Haag -  The pre-race show is underway.   The drivers are being introduced on the stage which is located underneath the suites and tower.
10:47
Mike Haag -  John Force was just introduced to the crowd.   I thought the place was going to go wild.   It kind of reminded me of Dale Earnhardt Jr. when he gets introduced at Texas Motor Speedway.
10:48
Mike Haag -

It continues to get hotter outside.   The track temperature is now at 98 degrees.   It's gone up six degrees in less than an hour.

10:59
Mike Haag -

The national anthem is about to begin.   Afterwards, the first round of Top Fuel will begin.   First up on the line is Brandon Bernstein and Steve Torrence.

11:00
Mike Haag -  The burnouts have begun.   Bernstein is in the left lane.
11:02
Mike Haag -  Bernstein just ran a 3.984 to Torrence's 5.376.
11:02
Mike Haag -  Next up is Spencer Massey vs. Bob Vandergriff.   Massey is in the left lane.
11:03
Mike Haag -  Massey won the last IHRA race at San Antonio Raceway last year.
11:05
Mike Haag -  Spencer got the holeshot win.  He ran a 3.931, 305.42 mph pass.
11:05
Mike Haag -  Next up is Shawn Langdon and Clay Millican.   Millican is another driver who won Top Fuel races at San Antonio Raceway when the IHRA used to be held there.
11:07
Mike Haag -  Massey is lucky that he got that holeshot win.   He and Vandergriff were flying down the track.
11:08
Mike Haag -  The track temperature is now at 101 degrees.
11:09
Mike Haag -  Langdon and Millican are now doing their burnouts.
