jerrymac - No. He has no background running a football team. Someone would be hired to run it for him, presumably someone he likes and trusts. No one knows the details of any agreement for when and if Mark Davis takes control, if he gets to pick the football person, etc. . . . much of it remains a mystery.

jerrymac - I'd say not good. I get this question so often I'm going to address it more thoroughly in a blog this week since during the bye there won't be as much day-to-day stuff. One thing to to remember. Gruden left because the contract he believed he'd agreed to contained two key provisions: 1) Control of the 53 man roster. He picks his players. 2) Control over the coaching staff. He picks his coaches. (He was actually OK about having Al run the draft. He'd also command a HUGE salary.

DHB has 5 catches, 74 yards through 8 games. Michael Crabtee has 11 catches, 137 yards in 2 games plus missed traing camp. Any comments from the Raiders camp on this?

A few players in the locker room have mentioned Crabtree in casual conversation. Cable says Crabtree's production is the farthest thing from his mind. And that's probably as it should be. He's in San Francisco, and he's not coming here.

jerrymac - Don't disagree there should be someone in football operations other than Al. But what makes you think it should be Cowher. He's a proven coach, not a proven front office guy.
