12:48 | roanoketimes - Greetings from College Park, Md., where we're less than a half-hour from kickoff for the Virginia Tech-Maryland game. The sun is peeking out from behind the clouds, but it's gloomy enough that the lights are on at Byrd Stadium.
The public keeps pounding the Hokies on the Vegas line, which opened at 17 but has mushroomed to 19.5. While I think Ryan Williams will have a big day, I think you've got to take the points. The Hokies have had trouble punching it in for TDs, and you've got to figure Frank Beamer might take the foot off the gas against embattled pal Ralph Friedgen if Tech is up comfortably late in the game.
Beat man Randy King disagrees vehemently with me here, but I say snatch up the Terps and the 19.5. |
