The 4th quarter in blazers game showed repeating worrisome performance by the Rockets team. I'm wondering how could the coach not making the adjustment during that long stretch of the game, it was the last 5 or 6 minutes without a single field goal, and they could not get the ball to Yao either. Part of it might be on the point guard as well. But this kind of performance is really mind boggling and showed why this team is not a true contender, YET...

ChronicleSports -  You might have noticed that there was another team at that game. Sometimes they have something to do with what happens. This was a good example. The Rockets can do things better down the stretch and worked on that in yesterday's practice, but I think you are overreacting considering the Rockets did get some good looks in that stretch, had a few turnovers that had nothing to do with schemes or adjustments and oh by the way, won the game.

jon, what is the status of luther head and his future with the rockets?
1:03
ChronicleSports -  Luther should be returning to the active roster any day. He said he went through the past few practices without restrictions. He is out of the rotation and does not figure in their plans beyond this season.

What foreign players/free agents do you see the Rockets brass taking a look at? Personally Pops Mensah Bonsu looks good because he seems to be a better rebounding Carl Landry type, but we need someone bigger than these guys and someone who can block shots as well, a good 6-10 6-11 pf/c, any thoughts and do you think the Rockets feel the same need?
1:05
ChronicleSports -  He is bigger than the current Rockets power forwards. He is just not as good at playing basketball. The Rockets don't consider adding some tall stiff to the roster to be much of a priority just because he is tall. If they could find someone that was a shot blocker, defender and scorer, preferably with some range, that would be a good idea, but I don't think any of those are hanging around looking for jobs.

Will we see T-Mac on the bench during his recovery or will he be gone for the rest of the season? It seems like team chemistry is on the rise and the guys seem to be playing looser. Would T-Mac on the bench affect that in a negative manner?
1:07
ChronicleSports -  I would be he would come around somewhere down the line. Having him watch games will not hurt. Shockingly, the team really is not as obsessed with McGrady as many of those who watch them.

Was there no interest in Head from any teams in the NBA for a 2nd round pick? Or did the Rockets keep him as an insurance policy because Mcgrady is out for the season and Artest/Battier has been injury prone this year.
1:08
ChronicleSports -  The Rockets do think he is something of an insurance option in the backcourt, but absolutely would have moved him if they could. He was viewed as an option for teams with injuries in the backcourt, but his own foot condition made that a tough sell.

What are your thoughts on the NYT Shane Battier article?
1:09
ChronicleSports -  I enjoyed it. It was obviously old news around here. We all pretty much know about the Moreyball ways of evaluating players and games. But I thought it was a fine read.

Who do we pair with Yao in 2010?
1:10
Jonathan Feigen -  Not sure.Crystal ball is on the fritz. I would not hold your breath for LeBron or D-Wade.

What is Yao doing to prepare for the floppers tonight?
1:11
Jonathan Feigen -  How does one do to prepare. I would bet he is taking a nap.

How did Dorsey get injured during a time when the Rockets didn't have any practices with all the b2bs and road games since Joey didn't play many minutes in any games.
1:12
Jonathan Feigen -  He has plantar fasciitis. It is a condition that many people get. He has fought it since training camp. And though there Rockets did not have many practices in December and January, players that don't play do work out on the floor with assistant coaches.
