Please tell the Lake Charles taxpayers how a city transit bus which seats 40-50 people max can cost the city $360,000.00? They must be equipped with GPS, Big Screen Satellite TV's, Men and Womens restrooms, complete with showers and dressing rooms. Also, how many passengers per day use the city transit system?

The last paragraph of the story: "Each bus will be outfitted with bicycle racks, security cameras and a voice announcement system, and will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act."

All of this costs money, of course. But again, the buses won't cost the city anything. To speak with the mayor's office about the transit plans, call 491-1201.
