You recently won a honorable mention at the 2009 Center Project Awards for your American Wars project. How important are these competitions in a photojournalists life?
12:15
Magnum Photos -  Very important if you win money!
12:16
Sparky -  And besides money? Do these competitions directly result in an increase of assignments and jobs?
12:17
Magnum Photos -  Maybe but if so over time, I've never had a substantial increase in assignments after winnning a competition, makes my mom happy though

12:17
Vladimir -  Can and must a photojournalist be objective?
12:18
Magnum Photos -  I believe it's impossible to be objective, I think trying to find universal truth is important but it's never actually universal so all I can do is offer my opinion
12:19
Vladimir -  Very good, totally agree with you
12:19
Sparky -  In your project statement (of the Center Project Awards) your wrote that this is how you saw America's wars from January of 2006 until December of 2008. Does that mean you are done with working on the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

embedding has come under some scrutiny as an establishment tool to shape narrative. I know you were part of Battlespace (which I thought a wonderful antidote) any general thoughts on embedding?
