how often does the game one winner move on in a five game series?
1:37
marcus hayes -  I think it's about 70 percent.

In your opinion, are the Phillies seriously being underrated right now? Only 1/4 of the so-called "experts" on ESPN picked them to win the NL, let alone the World Series. Yet they're returning basically the same team that won the series last year, plus Raul Ibanez and Cliff Lee. And they were unarguably the best team in baseball this year through the first 8 innings of a game.

marcus hayes -  Well, those experts and I agree on a few things. First, I think the Phils got a break not playing the Cubs last postseason -- but that's debatable. Missing the Red Sox and Angels in the WS was very lucky, but, whatever. Postseasons usually are about pitching, and few experts will readily pick a team with the Phils' pitching issues (Lee and Hamels struggling late, the bullpen's shakiness, etc.) to win two series, let alone one.

Is Manuel taking the wrong approach with J.A. Happ.

marcus hayes -  Happ's a rookie. Rookies aren't allowed to have feelings. They show up and do as told. Unless you're Gavin Floyd or Cole Hamels. Especially Cole Hamels.

I find it interesting that Pedro has not been available to pitch out of the bullpen, while Blanton and Happ are. What are the chances Martinez starts a game in this series? I'd have to think he'd do well in the cold Colorado weather. There is not much that can faze him.

marcus hayes -  I don't know about cold weather, but, really, has Pedro -- the fifth starter -- earned a postseason start over Happ, a ROY candidate, or Blanton, the most consistent Phillie?
