AOA/Hi/Ni Hao all :) So, here I am at Sheraton Darbar Hall attending the CIO YearAhead event
The event is about to begin in about 10 minutes as we are waiting for a few more people to join- says Rabia Gharib
I can see JehanAra(President -P@SHA), Awab Alvi(Teeth Maestro), Imran Zia, Sameera in the hall right now and there are many more whom I recognize just by faces (excuse my bad memory plz..not good with names :$)
People are networking while the CIO Pakistan staff seems to be really active and on their toes!
Farzal Dojki (Director Amaana) has just joined
@Sheema
This event will take a critical look on the ICT policies and inciatives for the upcoming year and will also take a look on where the Pakistani ICT sector is headed!
Event has begun - Rabia asking everyone to sit with the people u get along with
She's clever, she's doing that so that later on she can seperate u from the people you get along with *well* during the networking session - Rabia and her evilness :P
CIO Pakistan is following the green and gold theme - girls wearing shades of green/gold and guys wearing green neck scarves
This is because according to Rabia- technology is gold for us and now we r moving towards green tech as well so Green 'n' Gold
Rabia introducing the sponsors and speakers
Bloggers also being introduced :)
Multinet has provided Wifi - thanks Multinet
Rabia calling the speakers on stage
Rabia sharing some stats 177 people registered for the event and only 39% have read the IT policy
Rabia saying the panel for the first half will look at the things from the business perspective
The panel for the first half is quite *male-dominated* and Rabia in deep thought if it's a good thing :)
Amaana has been very nice to provide an sms account and you can use the code that Farzal shares in a while to send questions that Rabia will receive on her handheld and include those questions in the discussions
Right now we are viewing a video clip in which people sharing their opinion about IP telephony, VoIP, what the Government can do to support the tech sector
