Live: NFL draft second round with John McClain

7:42
John McClain -  I knew the Texans wanted to get bigger and better at outside linebacker, but, wow, Connor Barwin to go with Brian Cushing? Cushing is 6-3, 246. Barwin is 6-4, 256 and ran the 40 in 4.59 at the combine. He can play outside linebacker or defensive end. I imagine he'll drop down and rush from the left side and compete with Tim Bulman when they move Antonio Smith inside.

So tell me what you think?

John McClain -  Man, oh, man, the Colts are loading up their defensive line with tackles Evander Hood (Missouri) and  Fili Moala (USC). They must have done that so they can stop Tennessee's Chris Johnson-LenDale White, Houston's Steve Slaton and Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew.

The Eagles got a running back who may be a mirror image of Brian Westbrook. They got LeSean McCoy in the second round. He should fit in nicely.

I'm happy for TexasTech free safety Darcel McBath. Anna-Megan and I did a video with him before the combine because he worked out at Plex. At the time, he was rated as a fourth- or fifth-round pick, but he worked so hard that he was drafted in the second round by the Broncos.

John McClain -

Holy, Toledo, Milo: Houston offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer was just taken in the second round by New England. Wow. I can't believe it. I thought he'd go in the third at the earliest or the fourth possibly, but New England took him in the second round. Congratulations to Vollmer and his agent, Leonard Roth, because they just made a whole lot of money they didn't know they were going to make.

I love the pick. Besides rushing the passer, he played TE earlier in college, and was a key special teams player

I'm liking all of the possible flexibility here. Whatever combo you have of Barwin and Cushing at DE/OLB it looks like the pass rush just got a boost

Barwin is a great athlete that can play mutiple positions. Not a lot of guys in the NFL that you can use like that. I like the pick. "D" is definitely improving!

John thats just terrible. You need a safety, a DT, and probably another CB and you take a project as a reach? Of course if you had traded down 5-10 spots in the first like you should have you could have still had Cushing and gotten your safety and had an extra pick. With our needs I dont get this at all - didnt we just sign a DE to a hefty deal?
