Football chat with Joe Biddle

11:54
Joe Biddle -  Well, the Titans have some tricks on Halloween week. Vince Young is in, Kerry Collins out. For now.
We are ready to talk about that, college football, World Series, anything is fair game as long as it is all about sports.
Welcome in.

All this quarterback business is one thing, but don't the Titans really need to play better on defense if they're going to get out of the tailspin?
11:58
Joe Biddle -  They need help all over the field, offense and defense. Playing Vince Young doesn't make them into a Super Bowl team all of a sudden. We will see how the rest of the team plays after two weeks to think about how horrible they have been.

Why do you suggest that VY is in "For now." Do you believe Fisher will go back on his word or that Vince will not be able to manage qb efforts til seasons end?
12:00
Joe Biddle -  Let me assure you this was not Jeff Fisher's call, no matter how much he wants to pretend it was agreed on by everyone. That's the party line. Bud Adams made the call and VY will play as long as Adams wants him to. Adams has to see if he can be the QB of the future for this team or not. Lot of money riding on the decision.

Joe - what's your opinion on the blown replays this year (in college)? Anything suspicious or just incompetence?
12:02
Joe Biddle -  I understand officials missing calls, but to get the replays wrong is inexcusable in most cases. We don't know how many shots the replay officials got, for instance, in the Mississippi State game when the guy fumbled before crossing the plane of the end zone. Yeh, we got to see it a couple of days later, but officials can't stop a game 10-15 minutes to get the shot they need.

Jarvis you are right...this QB switch was going to happen but the defense is the big difference this year...the offense has put up points outside of the last few weeks. The secondary looks like imposters.

So it sounds like Washington will be out for Sunday. Who takes over at WR? Do they use Lavelle Hawkins or split Cook out wide?
12:04
Joe Biddle -  Fisher is playing it close to the vest. They don't have all that many attractive options.
I don't think they believe in Hawkins, so I imagine you will see Cook at TE and in slot, but not wide.
We'll see.
