Kevin Spain, T-P -  Welcome to the Saints chat. We'll be going live with Mike Triplett and Brian Allee-Walsh in a few minutes. Go ahead and start sending in your questions. Thanks.

Kevin Spain, T-P -  OK, guys, sorry we had a technical problem in here with our slow computers. Now we're ready to go.

If the Saints are in fact trying to sign one more FA with the release of Young and Thomas, who do you think their top target would be?

[Comment From Robin, Rotterdam NL]
With young and thomas being cut(and jason david possibly following), do you thing we are clearing cap room to go after LeRoy Hill?

[Comment From Brody]
I'm sure you'll get a bunch of these, but with the latest releases, are the Saints clearing up cap space for a new free agent? Like Hill, Cobb, or Leboy?
11:40
Mike Triplett, T-P -  Obviously the timing of these releases is getting everyone excited about a possible big move, but I wouldn't read too much into it. ... Young and Thomas have been marked for release for a while now, though, so I don't think these are sudden salary-cap moves. If anything, they may be freeing up the roster spots so they can add one or two more undrafted free agents.

But I do think the Saints will be in the market for a few more veteran free agents before this summer is over. I haven't heard anything specific about leroy Hill, but he makes a lot of sense to me. He can play either outside linebacker spot, he's young, and that's a position they were targeting in the draft to get younger and more athletic. ... Not sure how steep his asking price will be, though.

I don't think Edgerrin James makes a lot of sense for the Saints, but I think they will consider adding a veteran between-the-tackles runner at some point. ... And they could probably consider a veteran d-tackle, though they did already add vets Rod Coleman and Paul Spicer (who can play end and tackle) this offseason.

Where do you see Jenkins playing more? FS or CB?
11:42
Brian Allee-Walsh, T-P -  Good morning Botones95,
Obviously Malcolm Jenkins is going to start off at cornerback beginning with the rookie minicamp in 10 days and then the coaching staff will see what develops in the coming months. But I would suspect that he'll get a good crack at starting in base defense and certainly  will be  on the field in nickel and dime packages. It really depends on how   Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter and Randall Gay jell. Hey,  I wouldn't say that Jenkins won't see some action at free safety but we'll have to wait and see. For now, pencil him at second string on the depth chart at cornerback.

[Comment From Marcus]
How is Reggie Bush's knee doing? I saw an ESPN report saying that the surgery he had was more serious than everyone is letting on that it is.
11:44
Mike Triplett, T-P -  `Hey Marcus, Reggie's knee surgery wasn't minor, by any means. But he's supposed to be healthy enough to participate during part of minicamp and the OTAs this summer, then fully healthy by training camp. ... Saints Coach Sean Payton said the other day that he's "way ahead of schedule."

We won't see him on the field until May or June, so we'll know more then. But I think he should be OK well in time for Week 1. The concern is the risk of re-injury since that knee has had a bunch of different minor issues creep up.
