[Comment From jeannie]
writing is how i figure out my world. whenever i'm confused or frustrated, if i can find time to sit down with pen and paper, i can write my way out of my troubles. i guess i find a clarity and focus in writing that's unlike anything else.

mitch -  Welcome to the National Day on Writing. The question of the day is:

What does WRITING mean to you?

First-Year Writing and the Center for Writing invite you to answer that question right now—and as many times as you like throughout the day.

Write. Write on. Write on Site.

Writing with technology, for all its advantages, including speed, can be slow. Case in Point: getting this started.

I write, therefore I think...I am.

[Comment From Alex]
Writing is the way in which I express my thought in a manner that it can persist beyond the moments in which I say it. Through text a thought or an idea can live on and be used by others and create influence.

I write to figure out what I think.

[Comment From Heather]
Writing means a lot to me over these past few years. I have found that I can express myself much better through written word. I feel much better after writing my feelings down on paper or putting them into a story. I hope to write many stories throughout my life time and I hope it will inspire other to bring out their identities in their writing. It's a fun and creative way to discover yourself and to possibly make it into a career.

Writing captures what is fleeting--a quirk, a great idea, a feeling no one wants to speak. That's what I love about it.

[Comment From Huy]
I've been having these philosophical questions about life for years, but they were buried deep in my mind as I got busy with works. Yesterday, a cold knocked me out for the whole day, and lying in bed, disconnecting from the world woke up those questions in me. Perhaps writing will help to organize and articulate those ideas and lessons I've learned in life to bring out the answer, I hope :-)
