Hey Bob - Hello from Youngstown, Ohio! I was just wondering if you had to make any changes to the Volt's design, once they started building the I/V's, to accomodate manufacturing? Thanks!

Bob Boniface -  Hello Youngstown.   Always great to hear from my hometown people.   We actually had to change the location of the charge port slightly as well as a few changes to the hood cutlines.   Everything else was simply aero tuning.

Hi Bob, Can you give us an approximate number of how many mpg the volt will achieve after the battery runs out?

Bob Boniface -  When battery is depleted you should expect several hundred more miles running on engine generator.

Bob, We have been discussing the Volt’s styling and finish on the board in comparison to its stable mate the Cruise. I have submitted that to break from the ‘bad old GM’ mold, the Volt must ‘feel’ much more ‘high end’ than some would expect from a Chevy. In this I mean more Mercedes and less Kia. Obviously you can’t build an $80k car and sell it for $29k but I wonder how many ‘hints’ of the $80k car could be added without breaking the bank. I have no doubt this has been discussed at length in your coffee room! How has your team approached this issue? Value vs. Price? We enthusiasts ‘get it’, but how do you plan to sell everybody else on what the Volt is?

Bob Boniface -  Obviously we had to pay attention to cost.   We have however added features such as dual LCD screens in the interior as well as fully touch sensitive controls (an industry first) for the center stack.   Also, the electric powertrain delivers silky smooth power which emparts a very high quality feel to the driving experience.

In your video interview, the IV shown had no bowtie on the 'grill'. Is the emblem held up in development, or what?
2:08
Bob Boniface -  Emblems were not available for that particular IVer but rest assured the bowtie will be present on production model!

Hello Bob - In all of the pictures I have never noticed where you fill the gas tank. Will there be two separate "ports", one for gas and one for charging on diffrerent sides of the vehicle?
