So Ted, after the first day, what were your impressions of football practice?

Ted Lewis, T-P -  As you might expect, things were pretty spirted. Steve Stanard, the new defensive coordinator, has a good, commanding presence and you could see Bob Toledo holding true to his promise of being more of a CEO and overseeing the whole operation rather than just concentrating on the offense.
The players were in shorts, so it's hard to tell who's a big hitter, etc., but Casey Blum, a defensive end who was redshirted last year, made some good moves. Andre Anderson and Jeremy Williams moved well coming off their surgeries and I liked the way Tyler Hem caught the ball.

Ted Lewis, T-P -

Sorry. Sometimes I hit the wrong button too early. But it's not   that early in the baseball season anymore, and I think Rick Jones knows it's going to be a struggle for this team the rest of the way. They just did not show confidence at the plate against Houston last weekend, and although Houston's pitchers had good credentials, they had been struggling. The pitching and defense are fine, but this is a team that is 2-6 in 1 and 2 -run games and unless something changes, they won't be improving on that.
