Dish Oscar Dirt with Dave Walker

5:16
Dave Walker -  Hey, Oscars chat people. Dave Walker here.

The E! network’s Red Carpet coverage has begun. Don’t they know that the golf tournament isn’t over? Anyway, I’ll be standing by for Oscars coverage with en eye toward the start of the actual ceremony. But I’ll keep another eye on the Red Carpet stuff, and a third eye on golf, between now and then. Meanwhile, feel free to fire up your questions on whatever subjects come to mind, preferably Oscar broadcast related, but I have a feeling we’ll not be limited by winners, losers, presenters and, my annual favorite, goofy musical numbers.

Dave Walker -  Golf tourney update: Fred Couples just hit a classic Dave Walker-under-pressure (terrible) shot on 18. Hope this chat goes better than his, and my, my iron play this weekend.

So is this going to be live?
5:32
Dave Walker -  It is, luvmesomeoscar. Eventually. It's going to be a long night, I have a feeling, at least for anyone hoping for a lot of   "Benjamin Button" iron. But it will be fun no matter what. Fun is one of my middle names. Dave Fun Bogie Spellcheck Deadline Walker.

Dave, do you think the E commentators are as annoying as I do. What's up with them? They make such innane comments.
5:34
Dave Walker -  It's their job, and they're great/terrible at it. I don't have nearly as much trouble with these people as I did with Joan Rivers. I once called her and her daughter Red Carpet Mites.

Dave Walker -  Golf tourney update: Phil wins! Quick dinner break, then it' s back to the Oscars (pre-pre-show, then pre-show, then show) until whenever it ends, not counting refreshment breaks.

Dave Walker -  Hey, there's Richard Jenkins. He was great in "Six Feet Under" and also great in "The Visitor," so I guess I've got someone to root for in that category.

5:57
Dave Walker -  Dinner update: A lovely tortilla soup prepared by Times-Picayune Food Editor Judy Walker, co-editor of "Cooking Up a Storm," which makes a great gift. Salad on the side. And, um, a Diet Coke. Back to, um, work.

Dave don't you think the Oscars are better than going to a Mardi Gras ball? Golf, chips and no tux!!!!
