OWHsports -  Welcome to the Thursday edition of Husker Talk Live. Mitch Sherman will be joining us shortly, so send in your questions.

Mitch Sherman -  I'm here and ready to chat.

[Comment From Santa Monica Husker]
I've heard that K State needs 7 wins to go to a bowl--compared with 6 for NU. If that is true--why?
12:03
Mitch Sherman -    That's possible, because the Wildcats do have two wins over FCS teams (formerly I-AA).

Any recruiting news going on ?
12:04
Mitch Sherman -  No commitments in the past week or so. I'm sure there are visitors planned for Saturday night. We'll get word on that later today or Friday.

Regardless of those who suggest that the Huskers offensive woes are to be blamed on coaching, do you really think any of the coaching staff's jobs are in jeopardy after only season two of Pelini's tenure?
12:05
Mitch Sherman -  I think two years is enough for Pelini to demand progress in every area of the football team. If he looks at something after this season and determines that Nebraska isn't making progress in an area and/or does not have what he considers a plan to make progress, then, yes, it's possible that assistant coaches' jobs could be on the line.

[Comment From Rob]
Mitch, do you believe Nebraska has the personnel to run this version of the West Coast Offense? Do you believe they are going to be able to recruit well enough to run it in the future? Or do you believe we should be running more of a power running game type of offense?
12:07
Mitch Sherman -  Either way, I think Nebraska needs to make a decision. It still seems to me like there are multiple philosophies at work within the offense. Some want to be power. Some want to WCO. Some want to spread. You can't recruit effectively unless you develop an identity. I watch Nebraska and I don't know what it wants to be offensively in 2-4 years. As long as they settle on a system, I think they can recruit effectively to it.
