Bill Center -  Good morning. We can talk Padres, LT, Sproles, Floyd Robinson . . . whatever.

Bill Center -
Went to the Salute to Champions dinner last night and was impressed by how strong Marshall Faulk's ties to San Diego State remain. Marshall pulling for the Aztecs to climb out of their malaise.

Bill Center,

Bill Center -  Willy -- Is that a statement or a question

What free agents do you see the Chargers going after
11:07
Bill Center -  I think it's going to depend on how they draft. I really think they need to add a couple offensive linemen. That could be a free agent priority

Bill, i hope the bolts keep lt to finish out his career here.
11:09
Bill Center -  I agree. Call me old fashioned, but I love it when a player completes a career with one team. That's part of what made Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken so special. And although he didn't start his career in San diego, I wanted to see Trevor finish his career here.

Did you ever watch Mike Whitmarsh play babsektball?
11:11
Bill Center -  I covered USD in 1984. Mike Whitmarsh was one of the finest clutch athletes I have ever been associated with. Whether it was making the key shot or getting a key rebound, Whitmarsh was there. USD finished the WCAC season with six straight wins -- after trailing every game at half. Four of those wins came down to the final shot with Mike hitting three of those

Involving the Padres-- The starting rotation has a few question marks after Peavy and Young. Would like to see Mark Prior make a complete recovery to take one of the spots. Beside Baek and Geer, who do you see filling those spots and can Prior be one of those?
11:13
Bill Center -  If Prior is healthy, and given his history, that's a big if, he's in the starting rotation. But even then, you have only three pieces. Baek is currently listed as the No. 3. Kevin Correia is a top candidate as is Geer and Wade LeBlanc

Which players have made the biggest impressions in Peoria so far?
11:14
Bill Center -  The fact that Geer and Prior are throwing at this stage are huge plusses. But this is only the fourth official workout day of a very long -- thanks to the WBC -- spring.

the bolts need a lot of help on defence, who do you see the bolts picking with the 16th pick in the draft.
11:15
Bill Center -

With LT and Sproles both returning, I guess a RB is out of the first-round mix. Since I think they might be able to sign an OL as a free agent (although they don't like that route) LB or safety

11:17
Bill Center -  Getting back to the Padre rotation, Correia figures to either be in the rotation or the bullpen. Personally, I think he might be needed more in the bullpen.

Should the Chargers pursue Albert Haynesworth or Julius Peppers should either one of them be released and or would there be a problem trying to fit them inside the salary cap
11:19
Bill Center -

I don't think the Chargers believe signing high-stake free agents is the way to go. And given the situation at running back and with Merriman and Rivers, the salary cap issue could get very interesting
