Thanks for stopping by, folks. Let's get to it. Pardon me if I'm rusty. That 6-day, bye-week break got me out of my comfort zone. LOL.

Do you think it's time the Jets stop all of the trash talk and go win some big games first? I never see any Colts, Steelers, or Patriots talking trash as much as us, kind of embarrassing as we are 4-4.
12:02
As I wrote in my mid-season report card, never has a team talked so much while accomplishing so little. You're right, they look foolish every time they fail to back up the big talk. But what can you do? That's who they are.

With two weeks to prepare do you think Ryan has cooked up a scheme to shut down MJD?
12:05
The key this week isn't scheme, it's tackling. MJD is one of the toughest backs to bring down. He's only 5-7, which makes him difficult to spot behind all those big OLM. He has a great feel for defenses and can burn you with a cut-back run if you don't maintain the backside. The Jets have to be disciplined. I expect to see a lot of 4-3 fronts, with a lot of safety blitzes by Rhodes.

[Comment From Brendo]
Rich...It feels like November pasts right now--the big let down is coming. Anyway, if the Jets find continuity in all three facets of the game (Offense, defense, Special Teams) do you think we'll make the playoffs? Is our best stuff good enough right now?
12:08
Brendo, the big letdown isn't coming; it's already here. The question is, can they get out of it? I think they have the foundation to be a playoff team. You're talking about the No. 1 rushing team and the No. 2 defense. It would be hard to NOT make the playoffs with that, but the Jets seem to be intent on finding a way. In many ways, this is the opposite of the 2006 team. That team didn't have stats that jumped off the page, but they found ways to win. This Jets team has yet to discover that formula.

[Comment From Michael Balton]
How much of a problem will Mark Sanchez' inability to play in cold weather be? it won't be a factor this week, but December is right around the corner.
12:11
Mark has been going sleeve-less all week in practice, so at least he's trying to get used to the weather. They have only 4 more potential "cold" games. Remember, they're in the Toronto dome, at Tampa and in the Indy dome. But to answer your question, yes, it has to be a concern. Not so much the cold, but the wind. Former Jets and Giants QBs say it takes a while to master the winds at the Meadowlands.
