Channel4News -

Half an hour to go - and Gordon Brown is providing the warm-up act for Alistair Darling. He's on his feet for PMQs.

12:05
Channel4News -

David Cameron kicks of his questions with a reference to what could, on a non-budget day, been big economic news - this morning's unemployment figures.

12:08
Channel4News -  Brown boasts there are still around 29 million people in work -  3 million more than when Labour  came to power. We've looked at this kind of stat before: http://bit.ly/yrMt0
12:10
Twitterchannel4news -  Nominations for budget bingo please. 'Global solution/global problem' likely. 'Boom and bust' unlikely (from Darling at least). More pls.
12:11
Channel4News -  Borrowing: Cameron pushing Brown on the scary amount the country is expected to have to borrow. Darling put the figure at £118bn in November's pre-budget report... today it's expected to be as high as £160bn. To put that into perspective, in last year's budget, the prediction was more like £38bn.
12:13
Channel4News -  It's the B and B phrase... Cameron chides Brown over failing to end boom and bust.  Brown disagrees - we'll not be going back to the nasty 90s days of 15 per cent interest rates, he says. "You cannot cut your way out of this recession!"  Let's see what the budget brings.
12:15
Twitterchannel4news -  RT @weborguk: 'hardworking families'. More budget bingo ideas please
12:16
Channel4News -  Back to unemployment - Nick Clegg pushes the PM over which of his job-creation schemes have actually come to fruition.

12:21
Channel4News -  Video update: Breakfast, Darling? Not only does the chancellor like sticking his head in a good book (see image above), he loves inviting cameras in for his fruit and orange juice breakfast. He does it most weekdays, apparently.

Channel4News -

Budget speeches: an oldie, but a goodie. With Brown on his feet in the Commons, we're reminded of the days when he used to give budget speeches. Our pretty funky budget speech analyser lets you compare how often he used key words in different years. Relive the days of "prudence" and no more "boom and bust" here: http://bit.ly/sseRt

Twitterchannel4news -  RT @jcbEddie: "those who need help most". Strong contender for budget bingo. Any more?
