Did you watch Pedro last night and what were your impressions?
12:04
Dan Duquette -  My impressions were that Pedro didn't have great stuff so he had to trick the Yankees to get him out. It didn't look like he could get loose. Matsui stood right up on the plate and he was daring him to throw inside

How important is the exclusive negotiating period when you have a free agent?
12:06
Dan Duquette -  It depends on who the free agent is. Usually when you get to the end of the line and the player has played out his option -- like Jason Bay -- it's the player's interest to wait and see what their market is. They've played out their option, elected not to re-sign with the team and now they want to find out what their value is and they can't find out unless they talk to the other clubs

Dan, how hard should the Sox go after Halladay in the off season? Do you think he's still available?
12:08
Dan Duquette -  The Red Sox need to address some of their other issues before addressing the pitching issues. They still have some pitching depth. I think the Red Sox made a bid at the last trading deadline for Roy Halladay, offering to give up a lot of talent for him and I don't if that's their thinking today.
