OK here we go. Welcome to round 6. Results so far:
IM Mas of Malaysia drew with Mohota, while Aussie Dragicevic beat Pinoy bet Cunanan.
Broekhuyse - Siddiqi, draw
Guo - Tan, 1-0
Grigg - Barisic, 1-0
Setiabudi, A. - Zamahiri, 1-0

Young Anton Smirnov defeated seasoned campaigner Bill Foster of New Zealand. Meanwhile, dad FM Vlad Smirnov looks to have now just blundered the exchange! He whispered into my ear, "look at my position" (which did look menacing), before nonchalantly capturing a piece (a bishop) only to see a stunning riposte - Qxg5 (bagging a rook) by Bobby Cheng!

Rej - Nakauchi is an exciting Benoni. Both now in the midgame with black trying to make something out of a c-pawn passer.

How is young James Morris is doing today?

On board 26 is the all ACT dogfight between Oliver and Brown. Oliver, an IM-norm holder from this same event 2 years ago, employed the Bayonet Attack. And he has just dropped a Queen! He's dropped a Queen for a Rook but has a d-pawn passer - it's a bone in Brown's throat.

IM Solomon is having an awful tournament, while IM Xie is demonstrating his prowess towards playing at GM strength, following his strong performance at Doeberl. I hope he can continue his form to win a GM norm in this SIO.

Morris - Karavade, draw
Chow - Rathnakaran, draw
Bennett - Anton, 1-0

Speaking of bad performances, Angelo Tsagarakis drops another point today by losing to Ruan!

IM Xie has just drawn with GM Zhao. He continues his march towards securing a GM norm.

In the minor section, the board 1 clash between Savige and Baterowicz continues. Both, along with Mustafa, are leading their event. Baterowicz can capture a piece, gratis, but Savige has a deadly check in reply.

By minor do you mean the U2000 tourney?
6:01
Yeah...that's what I meant.
Anyway, Fernandez - Lane just ended a draw. And Jule - Brockman is heading towards a Q ending. Brockman may have just a small edge.

With only 3 Aussie IMs (one being an import, i.e. IM Gary Lane) in this SIO; some of the foreign players might be wondering whether Australia only has so few IMs.

The live games say Darryl won!

Voonie, with the black pieces against the American David Fletcher, is playing tricks. Careful play by Fletcher should yield him a draw in an opposite coloured B ending.
