any up date on DHB hamstring?
1:02
jerrymac -  No media access today and it's not the Raiders policy to update injuries unless you're there to ask the question. I'd be stunned if he was able to practice today and he'll probably be taking his time and attempting to get everything OK over the next six weeks. Not a good sign that the original injury happened five weeks ago and he hasn't gotten it right yet.

Lay it on us Jerry,.....Greg Ellis: Good pick up or not?
1:03
jerrymac -  Absolutely a good pickup. 20.5 sacks over the last two years, and from what I understand, a very solid veteran to be around.

do we finally look like we are capable of playing actual football?...for the past years you can bet on at least one comical thing happening a game
1:03
jerrymac -  Played actual football the last two games of the 2008 season, if I recall. Seems I'm one of the few people who believes that to be significant!

What is injury problem is Mike Mitchel dealing with?
1:04
jerrymac -  Mitchell also has a ``sore'' hamstring. The Raiders never say pulled or strained. It's always sore. And Mitchell's also happened during mandatory minicamp and he's been away for all the OTAs because of the NFL rules regarding graduating classes . . . chances are he reinjured it on his own or it was worse than they ever let on.

Why havent you wrote about M. Bush in the OTA notes?
1:05
jerrymac -

Bush has been mentioned. Looks big and swift in non-contact drills. Catching the ball great . . . very hard to rate a power back when there is no tackling. He's the kind of guy who should be impressive when the hitting starts.

Who were the standouts during this week's OTA?
1:06
jerrymac -  Couple of smallish rookie WRs come to mind with Schilens and DHB out . . . Shawn Bayes and Nick Miller. Neither has much of a shot at the 53-man, but they made some catches downfield . . . Cable cited S Jerome Brown, a converted LB from Oregon.

i heard that the raiders have been in contact with Derrick brooks, to play along side Thomas Howard, and Kirk Morrison. Have you heard of this? If so, I just thing there is even greater value in the locker room.
1:08
jerrymac -  Haven't heard it. He has been exclusively a weak side linebacker in a Cover 2 defense. Thomas Howard is the weak side linebacker now and for the next several years. Not saying Brooks couldn't be an SLB, but would be a significant late career change.

J. Russ is still young do you think that he is getting to realize the to be a top pro QB it takes tallent time and hard work?
1:10
jerrymac -

At least he's saying some of the right things, particularly regarding getting WRs and TEs together between now and camp . . . we'll see if it comes to pass and how it goes.

Matt Shaughnessey is the man! Tell me how he has been doin & at this point in the year if you think he'll be seeing the field quite a bit this season! Oh yeah tell Derrick Grey to give him that #92!!!

jerrymac -

I think you'll see him in the rotation as a base end. Gave his No. 99 to Ellis, now is wearing 77. Unlike top two picks and Murphy, has had no injury issues.

what are the odds of the raiders keeping Burgess with the signing of Ellis?
