First US Senate debate

7:02
Here we go!   Moderator Peter Meade is introducing the candidates.   Order on stage is (L to R) Coakley, Khazei, Capuano, Pagliuca.
7:03
Q1 to Coakley is to share the moment when she decided she should fill the seat.
7:03
Coakley is outlining the various challenges facing the US.   We've all heard the list by now (jobs, health care, yadda yadda).
7:04
Notes that she decided without waiting to see whether anyone else would run.
7:04
Khazei is up next, and uses the question to launch into his "I'm running because people are hurting" speech.   You can hear much of that speech by listening to our interview with him.   ;)
7:05
Now he says we need to "get the hogs out of the creek."   (i.e., he's not taking PAC/lobbyist money)

[Comment From LynPB]
He is doing a better job at looking at the camera. Martha feels the need to look at the moderator
7:07
Capuano is next.   Says he's doing the job now, so should he run for Senate?   And now he says he had to ask himself whether a regular working class guy like him could be a Senator.   "Stand up, take a chance, and give it a shot."
7:07
Pagliuca says he's been in business for 25 years, and he can apply those skills to creating jobs in MA.   "Senator Kennedy would've wanted me to do this."   Hmm.
7:08
Pags joins Khazei in eschewing PAC money.   Not such a stretch if you've got unlimited funds.
