Does Guerin signing with the Pens last night gave the Flyers a bar on what to offer to Knuble?

Ed Moran - I don't think so. They are different players and Knuble wants more than a one-year deal

Ed......Im sure the question everyone will have is.....Whats next? Will someone be traded to create a little cap space and resign Knuble??? Gagne, Brierre??

Ed Moran - Not after trading Lupul. Sure it could happen but both those players have no move clauses. What has to happen in Knuble's case is a contract with incentatives that is spaced out long enough so both sides can be satisfied, like maybe a contrat that is back loaded.

Do you feel a deal will be worked out with Mike Knuble before he becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1st?

Ed Moran - Which means before midnight tonight. I just spoke to Knuble and nothing has happened yet. Both sides are going to talk again today. It could be worked out and maybe his agent want to see what other offers come in. His first goal is to stay here with a multi-year contract.

Do you think the Flyers will try to sign a PK and faceoff specialist to take some of the pressure off Richards and Carter? There are some players that can fill that whole such as Pahlsson, Malhotra, Madden, Betts...

Ed Moran - Well, it was one of the things that Holmgren said he needed at the end of the year. They were awful on faceoffs this season.
