Davis did not talk to any players during his time on the field. He arrived after practice began and departed before it ended.

What do you make out of Tim Brown's comments that "Al Davis hate black athletes from Notre Dame"? Is that article on yahoo taken out of context or what?

jerrymac - I'm going to deal with that in a post later today . . . referring to a couple of stories I wrote regarding Davis in 2006 and his contributions regarding civil rights, race relations, etc. Reasonable people can disagree about how he runs his football team, but his record in the aforementioned area can't be questioned.

1:00	[Comment From Just Win Baby] Were the Raiders really unaware that Javon Walker had knee surgery? Aren't players supposed to disclose things like that to the team? Could there be any possible reprocussions to Walker if the Raiders didn't know he had the surgery?

1:01	jerrymac - No reason for Cable to say they were surprised unless they were truly surprised. Whether there is anything contractual about having surgeries, I don't know. Cable said he was OK with it _ which he wouldn't have said if the Raiders were looking to get out of the deal.

1:02	jerrymac - He had one good day, one bad day. Way too early to form any kind of judgement on his longterm potential. Rookies drop passes all the time.
