Myron P. Medcalf -  Hello everybody. You can start leaving questions about Gophers men's basketball now. I'll be back at noon.

Myron, what did your latest tweet mean. We could take that two ways. Tubby hasn't determined Royce' status for the upcoming games or the entire season - could you clarify please. Thanks.

Myron P. Medcalf -  Tubby said he hasn't determined White's status for the season. It means that he's still seeking more information about White's potential involvement in a Saturday night burglary on campus. If he's tied to that incident, I think it will certainly affect his status for the year. Tubby said he's received only a preliminary report about the Saturday night incident.

Hey Myron, great job covering Gopher sports, I was curious if you heard anything new about the new basketball practice facility & Siebert Field being built/projected at the same time? Thanks.

Myron P. Medcalf -  Not sure about that. But I do know the Gophers are moving forward with a practice facility. By the end of the year, I think they'll announce official plans. I think it'll be up and running by 2011.

There was a comment made during the telecast of the MSUM game that Iverson injured his wrist. Did you hear anything about this? They were attributing that to his play. Thanks.
12:02
Myron P. Medcalf -  I didn't hear that. But he played OK in both exhibition games and he practiced today. I don't think it's a major injury.

People complain about Royce White. But people would have complained if the Gophers didn't get Royce White. Tubby's in a tough spot ... danged if he does, and danged if he doesn't, isn't he?

Myron P. Medcalf -  Good question. We've been having that discussion in the office for the last couple of weeks. If you're a Divsion I head coach, you can't let a five-star recruit go to another school in your region if you have a chance to sign him. But I think Tubby understood some of Royce's challenges and believed that in a structured environment and program, he'd make progress. I'm not saying he hasn't made progress, but he certainly has made some mistakes that have jeopardized his playing career.

Myron - Minnesota is one of the rare schools with an NBA franchise in the backyard. Why isn't that more of a recruiting advantage for the Gophers? NBA talent scouts are always in town for Wolves games. College players that play for Gophers can watch pro basketball for all Wolves home games. Not to mention the other pro franchises in town. Why don't some recruits leap at the chance to have that access so close nearby? I am stumped. Your thoughts?
