X Factor live: Week 5

NOTW: Tony B -  Good afternoon X Factor junkies!
Are you READY for another spectacular X Factor weekend?!
This week we've got a Songs From The Movies theme going on so at last we can all put (soft) Rock Week behind us.
News so far this week in case you've not b een paying attention...
Apparently Jamie is threatening to quit X Factor (he won't) after falling out with mentor Cowell....and you have to wonder why he's been playing in pubs for the past 20-odd years. So a note to Jamie - you're not really famous lad. Although being on telly means that a) you'll be able to charge an extra £30 for each new pub gig and b) you might get a slighty more chilled lager on your rider...but that's it.
Not that it's looking as if he will have to quit if rumours that he's playing a song (eek) "out of his comfort zone" turn out to be true...so in other words anything other than rock (curious though that he wasn't that great in Rock Week).
Lloyd's got a lot of making up to do after that appalling sing-off last week. Simon really shouldn't have bottled it - but as I predicted (*polish fingers, smug smile*) Rachael wasn't going to survive much longer in the contest and even if she did she wouldn't win the grand final.
But even so to lose to Lloyd who croaky throat or not was really bad even as he squeaked his way through I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It...which,   incidentally made him sound like a 10-year-old playing kiss-chase.
I suspect mentor Cheryl chooses the songs for her boys in the same way that little girls dress up their pet cats - they think it's great everyone else knows its a horror show for the poor creature...
Lucie Jones - who has suddenly aroused Simon's interest (steady at the back) after her Avril Llavigne impression last week - has hinted that she will be doing a Disney song, what a tease....is it just me or do I just not care, it's the way they sing it not the actual song itself that matters.
As for Danyl, even Rafa Benitez is gloating over his dismal ratings this week. It's amazing what the nation's collective hate can do when we all get together and really make an effort. "More hated than Hitler" - priceless, apparently even Robert Mugabe has stuck the boot in.

NOTW: Tony B -
And so to the last of Simon's turns Olly. He was great, really really good...but I have a problem. I struggled to remember him - well both him and little Joe. And when I say struggled to remember them I am actually saying I completely forgot them. Every week they pop up and I think "hello, who are these two?" recognition factor, totally non-exsistent, nothing, nadir. If they didn't appear, I wouldn't miss 'em. But then that could probably be said, in some way, to all of the acts. It's no wonder that Cowell struggles to remember any of their names...some of them have been such nonentities they probably struggle to remember their own names.
Which can't be said of Jedward...if being **** is the new rock n' rock these guys have got it in spades. I keep trying to convince myself they are being deeply ironic, that they are in on the joke that's being played. But I fear that actually they are just deeply MORONIC and that they really do think they are great. I think it's the hair anyone who can spend that amount on hair gel to look that STUPID really can't have any idea of what they are doing.
But as Jedward-mania goes global I just might, just might be wrong. But whatever just expect tonight to be a feast-fest of campness...
And so finally to Stacey a woman whose diction makes The Wire seem totally comprehensible. So nasal that I'm left wondering why she even bothers to move her lips. I could have sworn she told Dermot last week: "I can squawk, I squawk." Only to discover she was saying she could walk. Which honestly makes you wonder if there's not much to this X Factor malkary than simple motor function of the legs. That said she's scrubs up lovely and has a beautiful voice.

So predictions for this week. With Louis, Cheryl and Dannii all losing at least one act this week it's going to be Simon's turn..I'm guessing either Danyl or Jamie with a possibly of Lloyd in the sing-off again. Join me at 8pm tonight and again tomorrow night for week 5 of the X Factor finals...
