[Comment From Grey Fox]
What players with expiring contracts would you expect to be jettisoned this off-season?
12:00
Jimmy Smith, T-P -  Four players, Ryan Bowen, Sean Marks, Devin Brown and Melvin Ely all played on one-year deals. They'll be unrestricted free agents this summer. It would seem to me Marks is the most likely to be re-signed to another deal, and Bowen late, possibly Brown late as well. Don't see Ely coming back. He doesn't add much to the equation.

[Comment From Bryan]
if Byron Scott is fired , do you think they might consider hiring PJ Brown as head coach
12:00
John Reid, T-P -  Well Bryan, I don't think Bryon will be fired, I think they will give him the option to pursue the Sacramento job if he wants.  I think P.J. Brown will make a great assistant coach, maybe in a few years he could be elevated to a head coach. Right   now he's not ready for a head coaching job without any coaching experience.

[Comment From Bigby Ray]
I heard that Bowers might be willing to move DWest if the team taking him also takes on Peja's contract. I guess the Hornets would get at least a good player in return, too. Any truth to that?
12:02
Jimmy Smith, T-P -

Don't know where you're getting your information, BR, because I don't know of anyone who has Jeff Bower's ear at the moment.   That would free up a lot of capital, but severely affect the Hornets' core. West would be the most movable asset, but I don't know if that's in the plans.

[Comment From Musburger]
Do you think DWest and Posey were sincere when defending Coach Scott? Is it telling that CP3 did not offer an endorsement of the coach?
12:03
John Reid, T-P -  Hey Musburger, I think James Posey and D-West respect the job that Byron Scott did this season. But  D-West also said the offense was too predictable during the series against Denver.   Both players admit injuries decimated their season. So to answer your question, I think both were sincere.
