Devra First -  Hello everyone. How are you? Eaten anything good since our last chat?

Hi Devra, I have friends of friends in town this weekend (a couple in late thirties) from Denver. These friends have never been to Boston and would like to experience what Boston has to offer with only a short amount of time here (just a couple of nights). Where would you send them to eat out in the city? A place that would also get them to see parts of the city a tourist would want to see. I'm thinking somewhere North End would be good one night (suggestions?), but where else? Thanks so much!
11:03
Devra First -  Yes, I would suggest the North End for sure. Do you want a fancy dinner? I might take them someplace more family style, like Antico Forno, along those lines. Are you picking them up or dropping them off at the airport? You could stop at Belle Isle Seafood in Winthrop if so, and give them a New England lobster roll experience.

Devra First -  Or you could merge the two and head to Neptune Oyster in the North End.
11:04
Devra First -  If they're interested in Fenway, you could have cocktails and a snack at Eastern Standard.
11:04
Devra First -  It might be fun to do a South End crawl and just pop into places that look fun or intriguing to your friends.
11:05
Devra First -  Hope that helps. Let me know if you want more suggestions.

Thanks! Well, the trick is I won't be with them (I really don't know them, but they've enlisted my help for ideas). North End suggestions sounds great! I'd say not too high end, but doesn't have to be too casual either. Somewhere in the middle is probably good. Good idea about Fenway, too. I think the best spots would be along the T, so I'm not sure South End would work the best for them.
11:08
Devra First -  Ah, that changes things a little. The South End's really pretty easy to get to by T, from either Back Bay with a little walk or on the Silver Line, putting you smack in the middle of the neighborhood. They might also like to check out Harvard if they're academic types. They could grab a pizza at Cambridge 1 if so.

Devra - tried the asian tacos at Myers and Chang on Sunday night - they were so good! Glad you blogged about them!

Devra First -  Oh yay! I didn't get to try them and was sad about that. I've been eating nothing but Latin-style chicken the last two weeks... Anyone have a favorite place for pollo a la brasa?

Devra First -  Intriguing. (Though the idea of a steak sandwich I don't have to chew kind of freaks me out.) One of these days, guys, one of these days... :)
