SENShobo - L.A. the River - In my opinion, part of it is that there's no instant Crosby or generational player in this draft, only ones who could project up to that but no one who will carry a franchise next season. Tavares spent four years under watchful eyes in the OHL, set records, and it's hard to top yourself again and again. The defensive acumen of both Duchene and Hedman, along with their skating, and how those have played out in recent NHL seasons and playoffs, that is another reason they make this the least obvious draft in a good while. As for Lecavalier, that's a lot of turmoil to be in and make such a huge mood, especially when we've seen what happens when Bettman gets involved in a team's internal issues.
