Dr.IanSmithonEssence -  It is a very complicated formula that you cannot figure out by yourself.  it is based on height,weight and a number of other factors.  In general, women who are trying to lose weight should consume between 1200 and 1300 calories a day.

I've recently reached my goal weight but since then have fallen into unhealthy habits. I am not exercising like I was and have strayed from the 6 meals per day. I fear I am even eating too few calories. Do you have any tips or medical advice that will help me to keep my eye on the ball of staying not just thin, but also fit?

Dr.IanSmithonEssence -  For immediate weight loss, cardio is best.  However, you should eventually work in some weight training.  I would suggest you work in weight training 6 to 8 weeks after you begin your cardio program.

Dr.IanSmithonEssence -  Think back to your original motivating factor and tap back into that energy.  Instead of six meals a day, try to eat 4 meals and 3 snacks.

Dr.IanSmithonEssence -  It's totally up to you, but I believe working out in the morning is best.  When you exercise in the morning, you release endorphins and these happy chemicals will stay in effect for a good portion of the day.  Also, if you work out in the morning, you can always sneak in another work out later in the day if you're up for it.

There is no such thing a losing weight in one particular area -- that is called spot reduction.  You need to lose weight all over -- there is no way to choose specific areas.  However, you can try to firm those areas up with specific exercises.  For firming butt and thighs, try lunges and hamstring curls.
