Andrew, we always hear about how the NFL is exempt from anti-trust laws. Can you explain exactly how the NFL benefits? Thanks

andrew brandt -  Tony-
The NFL is allowed to group its 32 member teams towards contracts in broadcasting and merchandise.  They act as a single entity rather than 32 different businesses, allowing them this limited exemption.  Now that status will be judged by the US Supreme Ct in February in the American Needle case.

Brett articles were great, but enough already. What's your take on Michael Vick's longevity with the Eagles? One year to help him get back in the game? How does he play in fron of Kolb?
3:37
andrew brandt -  The Vick story is far from written. I think people are too quick to make judgements less than halfway through the season.  The Eagles are loaded with weapons on offense and he is another one, albeit relatively dormant at this stage.

Doesmn't the Star Caps case fly in the face of the American Needle case? How can the NFL have two different interpretations of the status?
3:39
andrew brandt -  Good point but I look at them differently.  StarCaps is questioning the issue of whether state laws trump the CBA.  AM is about the exemption.  Related, yes, but different.

Maclin is a huge item for the Eagles IMO. Their main problem is when McNabb starts timing Maclin up they go to these wildcat or Vick plays and they lose the thing McNabb could use to elevate his own game.
