Do you anticipate Calhoon to get significant carries in the early season, and how does he look?
10:43
Mike Sherman -  Hello folks: Thanks for joining the live chat. We're a little early, and Jake will be joining us at 11 a.m. I wanted to post John Nicholas' question   as a test so that will be the first once Jake takes.

I'm the sports editor of The Oklahoman and will be happy to chat about anything while we're waiting for Jake.

Hey Mike, do you think OU will have the letdown this year everyone in the media predicts.
10:49
Mike Sherman -  Greg, I don't buy it. A letdown from what? Despite a great season, the Sooners ended with another loss in a BCS bowl, this one the BCS title game. Sam Bradford, Jermaine Gresham and Gerald McCoy didn't come back to have a letdown. They came back to make one last attempt at a national title. They may not win it all. But it won't be because they had a letdown.

Who do you think will suffer more from a quarterback injury, OU or OSU?

[Comment From Jake Trotter]
hey guys
10:57
Mike Sherman -  I'll take Mike's question and ask Jake to address it too. I'm going to say OSU will suffer more and here's why. Mike Gundy will tell you that the OSU offense is customized for Zac Robinson's talents, and they are unique. His run-pass and playmaking skills and leadership. OSU doesn't have another QB who can run that offense anywhere near the way Zach runs it, so the Cowboys would have to junk a big part of what they do. That's why I think OSU stands to more to lose with a QB injury, but both teams would be in bad shape

10:57
Mike Sherman -  Jake, why don't you start taking questions starting with this one from John Nicholas: Do you anticipate Jermie Calhoun getting significant carries and how does he look?
11:00
Jake Trotter -  John, I see Calhoun getting anywhere from 3-5 carries a game. Possibly more in blowouts. He looks good. But we'll know more when he's taking live carries in a game.

With Murryay's injuries occuring on special teams, do you see more reserves playing special teams, or are they still using many starters?
11:01
Jake Trotter -  Yes. I think Murray could see returns in spots, but playing him full-time there is just asking for him to be hurt again. Special teams is such a violent play in football. Lot of injuries occur there.

Looking at last year, there seemed to be a dropoff in the linebacker playmaking after Ryan Reynolds injury. I know Box and Balougin (sp) have received a lot of positive press, but what intangables, other than experience, do the other backers lack that Reynolds has that make him so invaluable to the defense as a whole?
11:02
Jake Trotter -  Leadership. The other guys really look up to Ryan. It's not the same with anyone else on the field, though I think Travis Lewis is developing some of that. But Ryan has a calming presence that makes the other players around him better.
